There are three major companies now that have announced a stand-alone pico projector to be available by the end of this year: The start-ups Explay from Israel and Microvision from the U.S. have already presented their prototypes this year. They are now joined by the first standard projector manufacturer: Optoma. And Optoma is also the first to announce a release date: end of 2008.
